SELLING YOUR HOME? DO THESE THINGS FIRST!

Powerwash - A clean exterior is a great, low-cost way to add curb appeal to your home. Be sure to include gutters and downspouts too. Having your home power washed will allow you to give your exterior a good once over to see if there needs to be any repairs to siding, gutters, and water table trim.

Clean Rugs - When rugs are dirty, prospective buyers immediately think they need to replace them, which could cost thousands of dollars. A good cleaning and spot removal is sometimes all that is needed to show a rug is in good condition and does not need replacing.

Clean Tile/Grout - There is not a lot that is more disgusting than finding dirty grout and tile in a house. Since replacing tile can be pricey, why not try cleaning it first? Many carpet/upholstery cleaners offer grout and tile cleaning services. Getting tile and grout professionally cleaned can make it look brand new for a fraction of the cost.

Professionally Clean Yard - Since curb appeal is a major factor in getting people to pullover and check out your house, do not skimp on yard clean up. Having it professionally done will save you time and ensure that your yard is in pristine condition. A landscape service can also recommend ways to add curb appeal, fix broken steps or uneven walkways and edge out the beds around your home.

Stage Home - If your home is empty, having it staged is a must! You don’t have to have every room in the house staged, but be sure to have living areas, the kitchen and the primary bedroom done. This will help buyers visualize their furniture in your home and give them an idea of what can fit in the space. Studies show that homes that are staged sell quicker and for more money, so don’t skip this step if your home is empty.

Clean the House - a deep clean makes your home look good and smell good. Whether you do it on your own or hire a service, make sure your home gets a good scrubbing.

Paint - Having a whole house painted can be pricey, but if there are only a few rooms that need it, get those done. Maybe it’s the entryway or the play room or your kid’s bedroom - whichever room you can refresh, do it. Hint: paint it a neutral color - Swiss Coffee, Dove White, and Balboa Mist by Ben Moore are three good choices.

Don't skimp on the prep, it could cost you thousands of dollars in profit. By spending a little up front you can ensure that your home will sell quicker and for more money.
